Historical Highway 80 was established in November 1926. Highway 80 was named the first ocean-to-ocean — and also the first all-weather coast-to-coast — route. Highway 80 became the most important highway, connecting many highways connecting to El Paso with Tucson, Phoenix, and Los Angeles, pre-dating Interstate 10.
One of America's most scenic and historic drives, from Benson down to Douglas, it's a beautiful drive to enjoy! Start exploring your roadtrip down Arizona's Highway 80 starting in Benson, the train town, down into the wild west of Tombstone, further south into copper-filled Bisbee and ending your trip in Douglas to enjoy Southern Arizona.
